Back The Celebration of The Chinese New Year 2025 will Affect Transportation Schedules

The Chinese New Year, celebrated at the end of January 2025, will affect on transportation schedules.

The celebration of the Chinese New Year falls in January this year. The Chinese New Year will be celebrated on January 29, 2025, when the Year of the Dragon ends and the Year of the Snake begins. This is one of the most important events in China and other East Asian countries. During this time, from January 28 to February 4, 2025, factories, suppliers, and logistics companies are traditionally closed or operate with a smaller workforce than usual. This also affects the logistics chains in Asia, leading to reduced capacity and potential delays in deliveries. The Chinese New Year causes flight and vessel cancellations as well as increased demand before and after the holidays. Return to full operation capacity may take the freight market weeks.

Please note the possible exceptions to timetables when planning your shipments. Booking shipments as early as possible for both air and sea freight is highly recommended.
