Back Kuehne+Nagel Finland Invests in New Temperature-Controlled Trailers

Kuehne+Nagel Finland has taken a significant step towards more environmentally friendly transportations by investing in new temperature-controlled trailers in collaboration with PNO. The new trailers reduce CO2 emissions related to maintaining transport temperatures by up to 25 percent per year. They also support the reduction of food waste and help achieve sustainability goals.

As one of the world’s leading logistics companies, our aim at Kuehne+Nagel is to reduce our environmental footprint in all transportation and logistics services worldwide. We also aim to support our customers by offering solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their supply chains and help them achieve their sustainability goals.

We have taken a significant step towards more environmentally friendly transportations by acquiring new temperature-controlled trailers, known as thermotrailers. These thermotrailers are based on the best and cleanest technologies available on the market. The acquisition has been made in collaboration with our long-term partner PNO.

“The acquisition of thermotrailers is the result of several years of planning together with PNO. We decided to invest in quality, efficiency and in the latest technology,” say Ilkka Heino, National Road Logistics Manager, and Lauri Vanala, Traffic Manager for Thermo Transport.

PNO Finland also values the collaboration with Kuehne+Nagel:

“This partnership demonstrates how cooperation can bring a positive change, sustainable solutions and innovations to our industry. In addition to reducing the carbon footprint, the new thermotrailers also support reduction of food waste as temperature stability ensures fresher and higher quality deliveries,” says Petteri Heino, Country Director of PNO Finland.

With the new equipment the CO2 emissions related to maintaining transport temperatures can be reduced by up to 25 percent per year. Investments in new thermotrailers support both PNO’s and Kuehne+Nagel’s efforts to reduce their carbon footprint as a part of the companies' sustainability commitments.
