The Railway and Transport Union (EVG) and the Verdi union have started an extensive nationwide warning strike in the transport sector on Monday, 27th of March.
The 24-hour strike will end on the night between Monday and Tuesday. The strike will cause delays and disruptions not only to German public transport but also at airports and ports.
At Munich Airport, the strike already started on Sunday 26.3. causing flight cancellations and delays. Other German airports, excluding Berlin, are closed on Monday 27.3. In addition, the strike has caused disruptions in sea logistics; due to the strike the large ships have not been able to call at the port of Hamburg on 22.-24.3. This has caused delays in both ship traffic and cargo handling.
Delays and changes in schedules may still apply due to the strike.
